About Microbiome
Talking of the gut microbiome, it is fascinating to see the links between the human gut microbiome and the soil microbiome, as so many of the processes are analogeous for health soil as for a healthy gut, and some of the same microbes are to be found in healthy soil and healthy guts.
Much of the way we plan and work at Zsámboki Biokert is with a clear focus on what we can do to enhance soil health, and improve the complexity of microbial life in our soil. The use of permanent beds, green manures, controlled aerobic composting, the use of compost teas, and many other practices are all planned to improve the health of our soils. At this moment before Candlemas, life above soil retreats into itself, sheltering from the cold and preparing for sprouting growth in the spring - under the soil, the microbes continue to team with life.
